I take photographs and write a bit and have been harbouring romantic notions of a life on the land for as long as I can remember. My partner and I, with our two non-schooled boys, are planning a year long trip in a Hymer motorhome to Morocco and around Europe. This blog is a record of:
- How we got to this place, (You can check out the start of our story here – Beginnings, Beginnings 2, The big Idea, ‘I do!’)
- Our planning and preparation (Finding a home on Wheels, Colin the Van, One week to go, Uprooting)
- Life on the road (Bad Omens, France is shut, Passing through, Crossings, Pockets full of Rubbish) the places we go (Dover to Disneyland, Blois, Salamanca, Rabat, Marrakech, Essaouira, Fez)
- The people we meet
- Some of the adventures we have (Painted Rocks and Punctures, Into the Desert.)
- Every place we’ve parked our fantastic Hymer for a night or more in Morocco and Europe (Stopovers #1 Dover to Salamanca, Stopovers #2 Monfrague to Essaouira, Stopovers #3 Essaouira to the Sahara)
It’ll also be a place for me to ramble about my passions and preoccupations – the natural world, living lightly, community, ecology (Dust wind and Permaculture) and family life, to name a few. It’s always nice to have people along for the ride so please do get in touch or join the conversation…
